This was a great late-season trip with gorgeous weather. It was mostly driving (over 1700 miles in 9 days) but I got in a number of interesting hikes in both Maine and New Brunswick.

Although most of the weekend was dedicated to celebrating our anniversary at Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz New York, I managed to get in a hike over very challenging terrain on Saturday afternoon. Sort of a combination of Mahoosuc Notch in the first half and Little Spencer Mountain (Maine) in the second half.

I spent a late October weekend in Portland Oregon, and on Saturday the 28th, my daughter took me hiking on the Eagle Creek Trail in the Columbia River Gorge. The trail, although rather easy, is a remarkable trek up a very deep canyon with numerous waterfalls. Georgeous is an understatment.
