Just a few places that I stopped while driving to pick up my friends and start backpacking in Colorado.

Album: Mt Zirkel Wilderness
Four days on the CDT with the centerpiece of the hike going through the Mt Zirkel Wilderness. This area was unhikable due to snow in early July this year.

Album: Rocky Mountain National Park
I spent the weekend hiking about 35 miles along the CDT in the RMNP. I made some side trips off the loop as well. Since I started and ended this hike on the backside of the park, I saw more wildlife than people.

Album: Dinosaur and Craters of the Moon National Monuments.
I took two days to drive from Colorado to Idaho, and made several stops along the way. The highlights were these two fine national monuments.

Album: Sawtooth Wilderness
The centerpiece of this trip, I spent five days in and around the Sawtooth Wilderness. I hiked to amazing views, swam in blue mountain lakes, drank from crystal clear waters and soaked in natural hot springs. I even squeezed in a 17 mile mountain bike ride.
