While the VFTT crew hikes the Escarpment trail, TeeJay and I hiked the Black Dome loop, consisting of Blackhead (3940'), Black Dome (3980') and Thomas Cole (3940') which are the 4th, 3rd, and 5th highest Catskill peaks (after Slde and Hunter).
Hunter Mountain, May 22, 2005
A climb of Hunter, the 2nd highest Catskill peak, on a wet fogging Sunday morning, finished up a great weekend. Although not an explicit goal, on this first weekend of Catskill hiking I climbed the 5 highest peaks of that region.
Catskill Wildflowers, May 20 & 21, 2005
Some flowers seen along the trails in late May.
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden, May 30, 2005
